I need a second to breathe after reading this story *breathes*.
Do you know those books that have you smiling and laughing the entire time and yet also have sighing in happiness?
Well this book inspires such actions.
I love this book. It’s everything I look for in a contemporary romance novel; it’s funny, sweet and has just the right amount of hotness. There aren’t a lot of sex scenes but there is enough love to drive me crazy.
The story is about two best friends who clearly fail at relationships and both wonder why when it’s clearly obvious it’s because of the two of them.
Arizona is the kind of girl I love reading about, she is smart, young and ambitious while Carter is so perfect in my eyes! He is just as smart and ambitious as Arizona and so mature for his age. I was hesitant to read this book when I found out how young he was because I feel most authors portray guys his age as annoying frat boys who only chase after girls and alcohol. But Carter isn’t this, he acts older for his age but not to an annoying extent that he fails to have fun but that cool calm and collected kind of guy way.
Why did I love this book? It’s so different from your typical best friend romance story, no one is pinning for the other and wondering why they aren’t enough for the other.
The author lets them have their attraction and makes it mutual.
I am trying to pick my words carefully so that I don’t end up spoiling the book.
So I will say this, this book is the kind of book you read when you want something light and relaxing to read. It’s a beautiful story that has one of the most relatable characters I have ever read about. It will kind of leave you wishing you had a best friend you could fall for and love like they love each other. It’s definitely worth your time and money. It’s my first time reading a Whitney G novel and I swear it’s left me hungry for her work.
